Dropped off the face of the earth again -- sorry. I’ve been doing a lot of organizing around here, getting ready for school to start, and trying to clear my craft/sewing plate to get ready to put some serious work into a couple of quilt series’ I’ve got planned. One is strictly theoretical and intense and I plan on working on a different segment of it for each month over the next year. I’ve got a lot set up for myself with that one! The other is a strictly fun set I’ve come up with through conversations the girls and I have had, mostly about music. That one, I’ll probably be posting updates of here. Soon, maybe.
I do think this blog is going to be more photos//less words. It’s weird, but that’s the way I’m leaning. I do too much writing as it is, and I spend way too much time worrying about editing and entertainment value when I could really go with the 1 picture = 1000 words thing. I’ll still explain myself, but I honestly can’t afford to devote all that much time to writing right now. With the quilts and the kids and the family crap that continues, I’m doing well to get this much done.
And I spent a couple of days last week making an apron, which is pretty out of character for me, but after seeing the great work last month in the Home On The Range gallery, I decided to make something for July's Tie One On challenge,Pink Lemonade.
I finished it ‘on time’, but I got nervous when I saw that Amy had already posted the rest of the aprons yesterday! So I may be the last one to send something over, but I’ll be more timely for the August theme. Making this apron was a really nice diversion for me, and I think it’s just great that Amy’s set this up.
Without further ado, my interpretation in apron, of ‘Pink Lemonade’:
